I have been using PURE Glass Bottle the past few days as part of my New Year’s resolution. My resolution was to drink more water through out the day and boy have I been buying a lot of bottled water since January. BUT – I am so thankful for this review for PURE where I was given an Explorer style (25 oz) reusable glass bottle that I can take anywhere.Screen Shot 2014-03-06 at 4.38.06 PM

The PURE glass bottle is very difficult to break because of the exterior clear safety coating where the coating strengthens the bottle. The bottle itself is very heavy duty and with the clear coating, it keeps all the glass and liquid adhered inside the bottle if the bottle does break. Glass makes your drink taste better and keeps your beverage colder longer. Perfect for in the car, going to the gym or at home working in my office since there is no mess of sharp glass shards and liquid to clean up if it did break. I have a 3 year old at home and cannot count how many times she has dropped a glass of juice or milk on the floor!

PURE Safe-Shell Glass Bottle is the only clear coated reusable glass bottle on the market with a permanent coating. Other glass bottles have coverings and sleeves that need to be removed. Some other glass bottles have 4 and 5 parts to clean and assemble; parts that can be lost or misplaced. The PURE Explorer only has 2 parts; the bottle and the cap.

I love the fact that it is convenient at home where I can fill up the glass bottle with filtered water and go about my day. My favorite parts are spending less money on plastic water bottles as well as helping the environment. In a normal day, I can drink quite a few bottles of water and this doesn’t even include my husband and daughter. With the PURE reusable glass bottle, I can fill the bottle up and not worry about recycling the plastic bottles or running out to the store to buy more since we ran out. The image below is from PURE’s website where it compares glass vs. plastic and it amazes me how much we help by drinking from a reusable bottle.

BUT guess what! Our friends at PURE Glass Bottle is nice enough to offer our readers one of their very own PURE Safe-Shell Explorer Style Clear Coated Reusable Glass Bottle. It’s easy to enter with the giveaway below. Share this with your friends and family so they can have a chance to win one, too!

Until next time, have a SWEET day! Bonnie

This past week I had the opportunity to test and review Ageless Derma Stem Cell and Peptide Anti-Wrinkle Cream, which is a revolutionary new product to protect and revitalize your skin from the signs of aging. During the harsh, cold winter months, my skin becomes very dry and I was excited to try a new moisturizing face cream. I am in my early 30’s and slowing starting to see fine lines around my eyes and mouth that I’m not very happy about.

I received a full size sample to test and I have been applying a small amount to my freshly cleaned face in the morning as well as at night time for the past week. Ageless Derma recommends applying the anti-wrinkle cream mostly on crow feet, between the brows and forehead. By combining seven scientifically proven anti-aging ingredients into one product, Ageless Derma Stem Cell and Peptide Anti-Wrinkle Cream eliminates the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improves the firmness and elasticity of skin, removes crow’s feet and re-energizes skin for smoother, firmer and younger look.

Each of Ageless Derma Anti-Wrinkle Cream’s special ingredients has undergone rigorous scientific testing that demonstrates its ability to make dramatic improvements on aging skin.

MY RESULTS: After applying the anti-wrinkle cream for the past week, I have noticed that my face feels smoother as well as having a nice, fresh glow to my skin. I need to continue to use the cream for a few more weeks as recommended from Ageless Derma to see better results of eliminating my fine lines and wrinkles as well as improving the firmness and elasticity of my skin. What I liked the most about the anti-wrinkle cream was that it had a nice subtle fragrance to it and it did not feel heavy or greasy on my skin. In addition, I enjoyed how to dispense the cream from the container. You gently press down on the white disc to pump the cream out. You dispense as much or as little as you need so no excess is left over. I would recommend this product to my friends and family since I know many of them are the same age and also starting to worry about fine lines and wrinkles.

You can find Ageless Derma Stem Cell and Peptide Anti-Wrinkle Cream as well as some of their other products at the following places online. Show them some love by following them on Twitter and become a friend on Facebook.

I must admit, I hate doing laundry! I don’t mind many of the chores that need to be done around the house, but laundry is the worst. I always seem to forget about the the clothes in the dryer since it takes so long for them to dry… I go about other tasks and finally remember later that night. Oh well…I guess I’ll have to de-wrinkle them tomorrow.

I had the opportunity to review EveryDayWillow’s ReusaWool Dryer Balls this weekend when I normally wash and dry the laundry. ReusaWool Dryer Balls are the natural solution for softening your clothes without chemicals. They help your clothes tumble dry faster by increasing circulation and can reduce drying time by up to half. Plus, no harsh additives that can irritate sensitive skin from dryer sheets. JACKPOT!

Three balls come in a box and you simply toss all three balls in the dryer with the wet clothes and press start. That’s it! No need to remove them when the laundry is done – just reuse for the next time. So I took the balls out of the box and added them to the wet laundry. They looked like white tennis balls but are made out of natural wool felt. They also come in 15 different colors that won’t harm your clothes. The natural fibers pick up a small amount of moisture at the beginning of the cycle and release it throughout the drying process. This creates a more even dry and reduces static.

The laundry usually takes over an hour or so to dry completely. The box and reading material says to check your clothes sooner than you’re used to since the clothes will dry faster than expected. And they were right. Just about a half an hour into the drying time, the clothes were almost completely dry! I put the dryer back on for another 10 minutes and the laundry was ready to be folded.

Why ReusaWool Dryer Balls?

  • Reduce Drying Time by up to half
  • 100% Natural Wool
  • Made in USA
  • They last forever!
  • Quiet – plastic dryer balls are loud and hard on your dryer.
  • Save over $20 each year in dryer sheets
  • Save money on electricity since drying time is less
  • Works on all types of clothes. Gentle

Last year, I bought one of those cheesey advent calendars for my 2 year old daughter to show her how many days until Santa visits her for being a good girl. It was a cardboard calendar filled with small chocolate candies that didn’t taste very good ;(

I remember saying to myself “next year I’ll make one to fill with fun treats and special prizes for my daughter” since the one I bought just wasn’t cutting it. I saw a really cute advent calendar at Target the other day but couldn’t imagine paying close to $25 for it so I decided to be crafty and make my own… all with supplies found around my house.

· 16″x16″ corrugated cardboard

· Wrapping Paper

· 4 sheets of tissue paper

· (24) 5 oz. plastic cups

· (24) small rubber bands

· Candy, Prizes and Treats that fit inside the 5 oz. cups

· Hot Glue Gun, Scissors, Tape, Ruler

· OPTIONAL: White Paint, Numbers 1-24, 1.5″ Round Craft Punch

Ok, so you collected your supplies and ready to start! I found a scrap piece of corrugated cardboard in the basement from an old box I had and it measured 16″x16″. This is a great size for your calendar but you can create your calendar however big (or small).

I wrapped the piece of cardboard with festive Christmas wrapping paper. I actually bought new paper yesterday but any type of holiday design on the wrapping paper will work.

Next, take your (24) 5 oz. plastic cups and place them on top of the cardboard to create a layout for the design. I had these cups up in our bathroom that I use for rinsing out my daughter’s mouth after brushing her teeth and they fit perfectly. I chose to do 5 rows of 5 cups with the last row only have 4 cups though. Laying them out before adhering them to the cardboard helps to create an uniform look for the calendar.

Now, heat up your hot glue gun and attach each cup to the cardboard by adding glue to the base of each cup.

Next, take your sheets of tissue paper and start cutting them into 4″x4″ squares. I chose red and white tissue paper to match the design of the wrapping paper. I took 2 pieces of the same color tissue paper and cut them together since you will need 48 total squares of the tissue paper for this project.

Now comes the fun! Pick out small prizes, candy, and treats from your local store. I picked up most of the special surprises at the $1 bin section at Target yesterday but make sure they are small enough to fit into the cups.

Add the treats into the cups and then it’s time to cover them with the tissue paper. Take 2 pieces of the tissue paper and cover the top opening of the cup. Take the small rubber band and wrap it around the cup so the tissue is secure. Continue with all 24 cups.

OPTIONAL: Next, I printed the numbers 1-24 from a word document to glue onto each cup to show the calendar dates. I punched the numbers out with a small 1.5″ round craft punch. For a few dollars spent on the small treats, this turned out great.

OPTIONAL: I also painted the cups on the outside edges of the calendar with a little white paint since the plastic cups are clear and I didn’t want my daughter to see the surprises inside of them. Next time I would like to find some decorative cups so I can skip this step altogether.

And here’s the finished advent calendar! You can hang your calendar up on the wall or we have ours on our dining room side banquet table so it is easily accessible to my daughter each day. I cannot wait to start this tomorrow on December 1st and continue to do this each year!

Happy Holidays + Have a Sweet Day!  Bonnie

I always love giving a creative handmade gift for baby and bridal showers. This weekend, our family celebrated a bridal shower for my sister-in-law and I knew what I could make as part of her gift. I always see such cute diaper cakes and thought how could I put a spin on it to make it suitable for a bride to be???

Let’s make a towel cake with cooking utensils instead!

Listed below are the items you will need to make this towel cake, step-by-step instructions as well as photos of the finished gift. {Sorry there are no step by step photos to match the directions…I was putting it together as I made it}

  • (1) 10″ round cake board covered in decorative wrapping paper
  • (5) dish towels
  • (2) oven / hot pad
  • 4-5 kitchen cooking utensils & gadgets
  • Tulle or Ribbon
  • Bow/Ribbons for decoration
  • Pins or Rubber Bands
  • Packaging Tape

This towel cake was easy to assemble and took a little less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

  • Cover the 10″ round cake board with wrapping paper to match the colors of the bridal shower or to match the colors of the towel set.
  • Starting with the bottom larger layer, roll (1) oven hot pad tightly and secure with the pins. I used sewing pins but safety pins or rubber bands would work too
  • Roll (3) dish towels around the oven pad, one at a time. I used 2 white towels and then 1 decorative towel for the outside. Secure with sewing pins
  • Add tulle or thick ribbon to secure the bottom towel cake layer together
  • To adhere the bottom layer to cake board, use double sided tape or packaging tape to hold it to the board for easy transportation

  • Wrap the second oven hot pad tightly together and secure with pins
  • Roll (2) white dish towels around the oven pad, one at a time. Secure with sewing pins. Roll last decorative towel around the white ones and secure with pins
  • Add tulle or thick matching ribbon to secure the top towel cake layer together
  • To adhere the layer to the bottom layer, I used pins to attach them together

DECORATIONS: Now the Fun Part!

  • Add the utensils by sliding them in between the towels of the bottom layer. I found matching spoons to pull the color scheme together. I also added some fun recipe cards and measuring spoons
  • Add a fun bow and ribbon to the top to cover where the towels and hot pad are rolled and you’re all done
  • I also added white tulle to wrap the whole towel cake to easier transportation since I didn’t want to hide it in a bag.

This towel cake would be great as a gift with some of the kitchen utensils and gadgets that the bride chose on her wedding registry OR even if you are hosting the shower…it would be nice centerpieces for the tables.

Until next time, have a SWEET day! Bonnie

The past few days I’ve been obsessed with some new make-up goodies given to me by my friends at BzzAgent from Neutrogena Cosmetics. What girl doesn’t love trying new make-up that enhances your natural beauty while helping to improve your skin’s healthy look?

I was lucky enough to enjoy:

  • NEUTROGENA MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Sweet Watermelon
  • NEUTROGENA Healthy Lengths Mascara in Black
  • NEUTROGENA Crease Proof Eye Shadows in Constant Cooper & Lasting Taupe

MoistureSmooth Color Sticks:  I received the sample in Sweet Watermelon and the sheer, shiny color instantly moisturizes your lips. It was a very nice sheer shade to be used for everyday as well as a special spring/summer occasion that left my lips soft and smooth. I normally do not wear lipstick during the week since I work from home so this would be nice for a night out or drinks with the girls. However, the Color Stick did have an “unusual” taste/flavor to it that I am not used to having on my lips.

Healthy Lengths Mascara:  This was by far my favorite product I tested from Neutrogena. I received the mascara in Black and it went on nicely without clumping. This lash-lengthing formula instantly makes lashes look 100% longer while conditioning and strengthening over time. I will certainly purchase this mascara in the future but probably in the Black/Brown color for a more natural, every day look.

Crease Proof Eye Shadows:  Two words… so convenient. These would work perfectly to keep in my purse for a quick touch-up when out one night with my girlfriends.  I tried two different shadow shades that complimented each other nicely. (Constant Copper and Lasting Taupe). You can use them separately or even together for a more dramatic look.  The creamy, antioxidant-rich stick instantly revives and brightens the look of your eyes. It has built-in primer that prevents smudging, creasing and fading for a whopping 12 HOURS of flawless wear! Neutrogena even includes easy to follow, step-by-step applications tips on the packaging. I tried both shades together and they were very easy to use, however, I am use to applying shadow with a brush in the powder form and found it a little “different” to apply these cream sticks of shadow. I would use these for a dinner date with the hubby but not for everyday use since I work from home and watch my two year old daughter.  The eye shadow did last all day without reapplying. Overall, I think once I am used to applying the cream form of the shadows, it will become easier.

And… here’s some photos of me after applying Neutrogena cosmetics. TAH-DAH…

Until next time, have a SWEET day! Bonnie

It’s been a few weeks since a holiday came around to make a cute + fun treat for my daughter’s school classmates and I was very excited to create this adorable “Over the Rainbow” St. Patrick’s Day treats.

I am always looking online for simple + easy ways to turn a little snack or treat into something to remember for my daughter’s school parties and the printable treat holder I found at Tip Junkie was perfect that was originally created by Simple as That.

The template can be found on the Simple as That website and easily printed to start your project. Simply print (document size is 4X6), punch two holes on the left side of the cloud to slide a lollipop in and you’re done. These would make a cute (and inexpensive) treat to send in the kids lunches for St. Patrick’s Day or for them to give out to their classmates. The blog calls for Rainblo gum centered pops but we opted for Jolly Rancher pops instead since my daughter is too young for bubble gum.

To make it a little cuter.. I found gold chocolate coins to add to each treat bag so it looks like a bonus to find “gold at the end of the rainbow”.

TAH-DAH…the treats in their sweet little bags tied with a green ribbon. I just dropped them off with my daughter for her school party today so hopefully everyone will LOVE them. I usually make some kind of baked treat but thought this was a better idea that was cute + easy to make. The hardest part was printing and cutting out the cloud printable template 😉

Until next time, have a sweet day! Easter is early this year and now I cannot wait to find another {SWEET} treat to make for my daughter’s school party!
