Working on some super cute ideas for my daughter’s second birthday…here’s a sneak peek of her party shirt. You just need a few items to make this and it took me about 30 minutes! {Even when taking photos for the step by step tutorial} I’m not a great seamstress so this NO sew project was right up my alley!

Learn how to make one for your little one with our upcoming blog post.

PS – Can you tell I am SUPER excited for her birthday party this year. It feels like I’ve been collecting ideas for the past 6 months and I can finally start creating some of these amazing finds!

Custom Party Shirt

Until next time, have a SWEET day!

I had the opportunity to review PottyCover, a disposable toilet seat cover for children that covers the sides and the front of the toilet.  Most ladies have found themselves {with with their child} in public bathrooms using the thin and flimsy toilet seat covers just to become frustrated that the cover falls off onto the floor right before you sit down.  Well…not with PottyCover.

My PottyCover review package came with {6} six individually wrapped disposable toilet seat covers that will be perfect to keep in the car, in my purse and in our daughter’s diaper bag.  The PottyCovers are made to help children in public restrooms but I actually tried it myself since my daughter is only 2 years old and not completely potty trained yet.

The PottyCover is much larger than the traditional seat covers found in bathrooms so it protects, not only your bum from germs and wetness found on the toilet seat, but also has extra large flaps that covers the front of the toilet to protect your legs and clothing.

{MY FAVORITE PART} You want to know what I liked the best about this product???  First, I am a little crazy about germs even more now that I have a young daughter but my favorite part is the cute and stylish polka dots pattern.  It’s okay to keep this seat cover in my purse or diaper bag since it won’t stick out like a sore thumb 😉

{EXPERIMENTATION} So I took one a PottyCover with me the last time we went out to dinner and tried it in the restaurant’s restroom.  {Sorry, no photos of me in the bathroom}  It was easy to unfold and place on the toilet.  When using the bathroom, it stayed in place since it is made of soft non-woven fabric on top and coated with a layer of plastic on the bottom.  The plastic creates a waterproof barrier and keeps me away the germs.  After using the facilities, it was super simple to take off the toilet, fold up and thrown away into the restroom trashcan {do not flush}.

I am so glad I have a few left from my review sample package so I can keep some in my car, my husband’s SUV and another one in my purse.  When my daughter is a little older and able to use the bathroom like a big girl, we will keep PottyCover close by!

A pack of PottyCover sells for $5.99 and it is available on AmazonEbay, all Buy Buy Baby stores around the country and at select Bed Bath & Beyond stores. – Visit their website today to learn more about their great product and show PottyCover some love!

Until next time, have a SWEET day!

Welcome to the weekend!

Finally, we cleaned up the house and are well rested from our daughter’s first birthday party!  Thank goodness birthdays are only once a year 😉

I had a lot of nice comments about the decorations I created for her mod monkey pink and lime green theme.

Happy Birthday Pennant

High Chair Banner Decorations

The high chair decoration made a very neutral high chair stand out during pictures of Grace eating the giant cupcake smash cake. A lot of photos were in her chair so I wanted to make something to coordinate with the rest of the decor.

The Mod Monkey Edible Cupcake Toppers are NOW available on our website to purchase!  Choose from PINK, GREEN or BLUE.  The edible toppers are sold by the dozen and are $9/dozen.

Printable Cupcake Toppers

The printable cupcake topper can be used for so many great projects: printable cupcake toppers, favor bag decorations, napkin rings, invitations, thank you note cards, scrapbooking, and so many more!

Until tomorrow, have a sweet day!

What a weekend! We celebrated our daughter’s first birthday on Sunday and I have finally had the chance to upload some of the photos from her special day!

The party theme and decor colors were pink and lime green polka dots with a mod monkey design. Everything came together just as I imagined 😉

Welcome Signs

My biggest worry for the day was the chance of rain since we were planning on having it outside. Luckily, it didn’t rain but we ended up with a hot and humid afternoon.

First Year Photo Banner

Each month with a baby picture

I wanted to display Grace each month and see how she has changed over one year. I first thought about putting her monthly photo in small frames and putting them on a side table but came up with this idea that saved a lot of space.  Each photo was cut into a circle and the month numbers used the same design from the welcome sign. I connected each one with matching brown ribbon and hung it from one of our mantle shelves in the living room. I received so many compliments on it that day!

Cupcakes on Stand with Giant Cupcake Smash Cake

Giant Cupcake on the Cupcake Stand

For the main centerpiece on the table I made a 3 tier cupcake stand with Grace’s giant cupcake smash cake on top and standard cupcakes for the guests on the lower tiers. This cupcake stand was created with soup cans, cake rounds, wrapping paper, and ribbon! Saved a lot of money and barely took anytime to put together. I can use the stand again or I can change the color of the each tier by wrapping it in different paper! The cupcakes featured an array of toppers: edible cupcake toppers, printables and fondant decorations.

Giant Cupcake Smash Cake

As for the giant cupcake smash cake, Grace LOVED it! I used the giant cupcake pan that bakes the cake in 2 separate pieces and then you put them together with frosting. I originally was going to cover the bottom with fondant but to be honest…ran out of time so I had to think of something quick and easier to make the base of the cupcake look clean. So I took some white chocolate chips, melted them in the microwave and added green candy dye. I took the cake pan to use as a mold and coated the cupcake bottom section with 2 layers of chocolate …let it harden in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and popped it out. I had to shave down the actual cake bottom to fit into the chocolate mold. Then I added the pink frosting with some chocolate sprinkles!

…and the finished giant cupcake smash cake!

Birthday Girl with Her Cake!

Grace was not shy at all to dig into her cake 😉

Favorite Photo!

High Chair Decorations!

What a great weekend! A lot of work but definitely worth it.

Until tomorrow, have a sweet night!

Good morning,

It was a very busy weekend with Grace’s first birthday party! Everything turned out exactly how I imagined with the decorations, food and desserts but I couldn’t control the weather. It didn’t rain but it was over 90 degrees and pure humidity so most guests tried to keep cool inside.

I have her one year check-up today and need to catch up with work since I was in “party mode” the whole weekend but I wanted to give you a sneak peak of the birthday girl and her giant cupcake smash cake.

In the next post, I’ll have all of the decorations and food for you to see from the day. Also in the next couple blogs, I’ll show you how to make everything.

Until later, have a sweet day!

It’s Friday night and I am working at some of my daughter’s first birthday decorations. I will definitely post everything once we have it set up for the party but wanted to show some of the progress from the past couple of days 😉

Her party is going to be Sunday with a pink and lime green mod monkey theme. Invitations were sent with the matching theme and now I’m working on the table decorations. Some will be outside and others will be on the table inside with the food.

Happy Birthday Pennant Banner

I made a Happy Birthday pennant banner to go across the living room mantle in the matching pink, green and white colors. The font used matches her invitations as well as the other decorations. Very easy to make…made template in Illustrator, cut out each triangle and then attached them to brown ribbon.

Table Centerpieces

For the centerpieces on the tables inside, I created very cute paper flower pom-poms! The center is a lime green paper flower made out of tissue paper attached to a 10″ wooden skewer that was wrapped with ribbon. I hot glued a piece of styrofoam to the inside of the box to insert the pom-pom and then covered it with tissue paper. I then added matching ribbon and tulle to make it a little fuller.

High Chair Decorations

Also, I made a high chair decorations since she will be photographed in it for a good amount pictures… I cannot wait to get the picture of her and her giant cupcake smash cake 😉 Very simple to make yourself…again I made the design in Illustrator, printed from my home printer on white card stock and then attached each one together with brown ribbon. Added a little bit of tulle and it’s ready to be attached to the high chair front.  Her highchair is a neutral one so it will work great to coordinate the theme.

Outside Table Centerpieces

For the centerpieces for the tables outside, I made some cute centerpieces just with the small square boxes filled with tissue paper, curling ribbon and then colorful plastic drink stirrer sticks.  I bought them last year for a party and had some left over.

The photos are not the best but I wanted to show my progress over the last few days.  In upcoming blog posts, I’ll show you how to make a cupcake stand out of soup cans and cake boards!

Better get going…so much more to do to get ready but mostly it’s food. Cupcakes with edible toppers, giant cupcake smash cake with matching cake topper plus lots of other goodies!

Until tomorrow, have a sweet day!
